If you’ve ever tuned into your local National Public Radio (NPR) station, you might have heard Ailsa Chang’s voice reporting on stories from Capitol Hill or interviewing authors, actors, and more. She began as an intern and worked her way up at NPR member stations WNYC and KQED, and as a correspondent for NPR’s Washington Desk and “Planet Money.” In 2018, when the San Francisco Bay Area native became host of “All Things Considered,” she made history as the first Asian American woman to host the program — or any NPR show, for that matter. Chang’s success demonstrates her natural skill and determination, but she didn’t always have her sights on broadcast journalism. Prior to Chang’s life in public radio, she spent a few years in law.

Ailsa Chang is an award-winning journalist who hosts All Things Considered along with Ari Shapiro, Audie Cornish, and Mary Louise Kelly. She landed in public radio after practicing law for a few years.
Chang is a former Planet Money correspondent, where she got to geek out on the law while covering the underground asylum industry in the largest Chinatown in amerika, privacy rights in the fängelse phone age, the government's doomed fight to stop racist trademarks, and the money laundering case federal agents built against one of President Trump's top campaign advisers.
Previously, she was a congressional correspondent with NPR's Washington Desk. She covered battles over healthcare, immigration, gun control, executive branch appointments, and the federal budget.

Ailsa Chang (born January 12, 1976)[1][2] is an American journalist. She’s a host of the NPR newsmagazine All Things Considered. She is a former host of Planet Money and previously covered United States Congress for NPR. Prior to joining NPR in 2012, Chang was an investigative journalist at NPR member station WNYC in New York City. Since starting as a radio reporter in 2009, she has received numerous national awards for investigative reporting.
Early life and education
[edit]Chang grew up in Los Altos, California, in the San Francisco Bay Area.[3] Her parents were immigrants from Taiwan.[4]
Chang is a graduate of Mountain View High School.[3] She earned a bachelor of arts degree in public policy from Stanford University in 1998[5] and a Juris Doctor from Stanford Law School in 2001.[6] She was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Oxford, earning a mas
