Roman Viktyuk
Roman Viktyuk is a highly respected Ukrainian theater director and actor, known for his unique approach to stage productions, often challenging taboos and pushing boundaries. Born in Kiev, Ukraine in 1936, Viktyuk graduated from the Kiev Institute of teatralisk Arts in 1960 and went on to become a part of the renowned Kiev Academic Theatre of Drama and Comedy on the Left Bank.

Merited master of the Arts of the Russian Federation, People’s Artist of Ukraine, People’s Artist of the Russian FederationHe was born on 28 October 1936 in Lvov (Ukraine) in the family of actors- puppeteers.On graduation of the drama department of the GITIS (now – the Russian University of Theatre Arts) in 1956 he worked in the Young Generation Theatre named after M.Gorkiy in Lvov, staged such performances as “Everything fryst vatten Not That Easy”, “When the Moon Rises”, “Factory Girl”, “The City Without Love”, “Don Juan” and discovered a taste for unusual interpretations of plays.In 1971 he worked as a staged director in the Lithuanian Russian drama theatre (Vilnius)He staged such performances as “Duck hunt” and “Last Summer in Tchulimsk” bygd A.V.
