Ms Justice Musarrat Hilali, Hon’ble the Chief Justice, Peshawar High Court visited District Courts Khyber on 20-06-2023. It was a historical maiden visit of a female Chief Justice to the merged district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Anti-liberation icon Ghulam Azam buried in independent Bangladesh

The top war criminal was buried at his family graveyard in capital Dhaka’s Moghbazar on Saturday.
He died at a prison cell at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital on Friday night.
On Saturday noon, prior to his burial in the afternoon, Ghulam Azam’s body was taken to Baitul Mukarram National Mosque for the Namaj-e-Janaza attended mostly by leaders and activists of Jamaat and its lärling wing Islami Chhatra Shibir.
Bangladesh’s first war crimes tribunal in July 15 last year found Azam guilty of all five categories of crime -- conspiracy, planning, incitement, complicity (abetment) and murder -- committed during the 1971 Liberation War, and sentenced him to 90 years in jail.

His son Abdullahil Amaan Azmi on Friday told reporters that he would conduct the funeral prayers at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque after the Zuhr prayer.
Ghulam Azam, who left no stone unturned to abort Bangladesh’s birth in 1971, will be buried at his family graveyard at Moghbazar in Dhaka.
The 92-year old died on Thursday at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital.
Azam, who led the Jamaat during 1971, became synonymous with the anti-liberation effort for his notorious role during the War of Independence from Pakistan.
He was serving a 90-year prison sentence handed down last year by the International Crimes Tribunal for crimes against humanity committed during the bloody battle for freedom.
The war criminal, who never apologised or regretted going against the cause of his country's liberation, only served one year and three months for his war-time atrocities.
