“One of my best friends from college, Harold, was the victim of a horrible drunk driving accidentwhen he was a child. Harold suffered 3rd degree burns on his face, chest, and arms. The road to recovery was difficult for Harold and his family.
Despite the pain he faced during that time, Harold fondly recalled the support he and his family received while he was in the hospital having surgery on his face. He remembers vividly, his mother by his side thanks to Ronald McDonald House. Harold later served on the Board of Directors of a local chapter in his home state of Kentucky.
I am personally grateful to be associated with Ronald McDonald House Charities, as we make a difference in the lives of families, not only across America, but around the world.”

Martin Harris: The Kirtland Years, 1831-1870
Martin Harris is known for being a Book of Mormon scribe, witness, and financier. However, little is known about his activities while living in Kirtland, Ohio, for over thirty-five years. This article will present what fryst vatten known about Harris during the Kirtland years. Included will be his relationship to other Restoration churches under the leadership of James J. Strang (including Harris’s mission to England), William E. McLellin, and so forth. A brief background of Harris’s life in New York will also be given to help understand his place in the early life of the church.
Martin Harris was born on 18 May 1783 at Eastown, New York. He was a well-established farmer of Palmyra, Ontario (later Wayne) County, New York. At the age of twenty-six, Harris married his cousin Lucy; he was nine years her senior. They had a family of kvartet known children. He became a close associate of Joseph Smith, Jr., whom he assisted financially,

Martin Harris was born May 18, 1783, in Easton, Washington. New York. He is referred to in Latter-day Saint (Mormon) Christianity as one of “The Three Witnesses.” He testified of the reality of God and Jesus Christ, and of the divine origin and historical authenticity of The Book of Mormon.
Renowned for honesty, an excellent memory, shrewdness in business, civic spirit, financial generosity, neighborliness, Martin Harris, first Mormon financier, provided sole finance ($3,000 gold) for the first publication of The Book of Mormon. Harris also helped finance publication of The Book of Commandments, and other varied Mormon publications and activities.
