    Qamar Zaman Kaira (born January 5, 1960 in Kharian) is the current Pakistani Federal Minister for upplysning & Broadcasting. He also holds the additional office of the Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Northern Areas since March 31, 2008. He was also Governor of Gilgit-Baltistan.

    Kaira had his primary education from his local school at Lalamusa. He passed his intermediate examinations from F.G. Degree College Kharian Cantt. He graduated from Forman Christian College, and did his Masters of Arts (Philosophy) from University of the Punjab, Lahore. He also has a Masters degree in Political Sciences.Olamba kha!.

    Qamar Zaman Kaira (Urdu: قمر زمان کائرہ; born 5 January 1960) is a former Minister of Information and Mass-Media Broadcasting in the Government of Pakistan from 2008 to 2013. He also remained an advisor on Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif from 18 April 2022 to 10 August 2023.

    Before heading the Ministry of Information, Kaira was the minister of the Ministry of Kashmir and Northern Areas and later ascended as acting Governor of Gilgit–Baltistan in 2009.[1]

    His career in national politics started in 2002 on the platform of the Pakistan Peoples Party.He has pioneered many articles on political philosophy and raised a voice for democracy in the country. After succeeding Sherry Rehman as minister of information in 2009, he lost his ministry in 2011 to Firdous Ashiq Awan. However, in 2012, he was again reappointed in the ministry of information after a cabinet reshuffle.[2]

    GILGIT: Prime Minister’s Adviser on Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Qamar Zaman Kaira arrived in Gilgit-Baltistan on Tuesday and held meetings with leaders of different political and religious parties to evolve a consensus to form a coalition government in the region.

    Soon after his arrival, Mr Kaira met GB Governor Syed Mehdi Shah and Opposition Leader in the GB Assembly and PPP President Advocate Amjad Hussain and PML-N and JUI-F leaders.

    The election of the new chief minister of Gilgit-Baltistan will be held on July 13.

    Mr Kaira tried to convince the PPP leader Advocate Amjad Hussain and PPP GB Assembly member Shahzad Agha to withdraw their resignations as they have presented their resignations to the GB assembly speaker in protest against the nomination of PTI disgruntled member Gulber Khan as a candidate for the post of the GB chief minister.

    Talking to journalists after the meeting, Mr Kaira said he met leaders of various groups of the GB Assembly to promote politi
