    Iris van Herpen is a Dutch mode designer who is widely recognized as one of fashion’s most forward-thinking creators who continuously pushes the boundaries of fashion design. Since her first show in 2007 Van Herpen has been inventing new forms and methods of sartorial expression by combining the most traditional and the most radical materials and garment construction methods into her unique aesthetic vision.     Iris van Herpen (born June 5, 1984) is a Dutch fashion designer known for fusing technology with traditional haute couture[1] craftsmanship.[2] Van Herpen opened her own label Iris van Herpen in 2007. In 2011, the Dutch designer became a guest-member of the Parisian Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, part of the Fédération française de la couture.[3] Since then, Van Herpen has continuously exhibited her new collections at Paris Fashion Week.[4] Van Herpen's work has been included in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Cooper-Hewitt Museum in New York and the Palais de Tokyo in P

    Since its founding year 2007, the maison of Iris van Herpen has been pushing an interdisciplinary dialogue between nature, art, science, dance and architecture. Merging different disciplines in unexpected and pioneering ways has been paramount to Iris van Herpen's distinctive creative process which can be described as an inextricable bond between traditional craftsmanship and future-facing technology.

    The year 2010 marked a turning point in her career: she presented her first 3D-printed dress from the Crystallization Collection.  In 2012,  the Groninger Museum devoted a first major exhibition to her work.
