Every holiday season is family time for the Ranakas, a time to rest and bond. The family gets together with extended family members, aunts, uncles, and cousins. This year, however, they are keeping the celebrations small, with their parents; Nonceba and Kgotlaesele Ranaka, siblings, Manaka, Dineo, Mpumi, Ziggy, Ranaka, Mzingisi, and the grandchildren. "We didn't plan too much this year," Manaka tells ZiMoja. "We never really plan or know until the last minute. But before we even had kids, there used to be this routine of us meeting at a rakgadi's sbani bani's house or our house. Everybody would bring food and drinks and we would share. When we had kids, we continued for a bit. But now that we are older and extremely busy with kids, we would rather just keep it to immediate family," Manaka said.

Thandokuhle Manaka bid farewell to her best friend and her sister, Katlego Ranaka on Saturday, 1 February at her funeral service.
Thandokuhle's video comes after her mother, Manaka Ranaka's photo at the memorial service trended on social media on Friday, 31 January.
Manaka adds that she didn't want to overshadow her late daughter Katlego with her fame. She [Manaka] wanted to let her daughter [Katlego] shine on her own.
TikToker Motso Medupe shared a video of Thandokuhle bidding farewell to Katlego at her begravning on Saturday, 1 February.

Dineo Ranaka (born 16 January ) is a South African radio personality, television presenter, actress, DJ, and TV producer.
Ranaka started her career at 5FM in presenting the Fanta World Chart Show with Brown Sugar.[1] She then moved to YFM, Highveld Stereo (later ),[2]Metro FM, and Cliff Central. She was the co-host and producer of the YFM drive time show Essential Rush. Ranaka then took a long break after which she joined Metro FM to host The Bridge, a mid-morning show[3] and Metro FM Top 40[4] shortly
