Dr Abdullah Tarik Aslan is an internal medicine physician who graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine as a high honour student in and completed his internal medicine training program at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in He completed his obligatory duty as an internist in Burdur (a city located in southwest part of Turkey). During his career, he has worked with several important research groups. He performed a one-month observership activity at Hospital Universitario Virgen Macarena, Seville, Spain by endorsement of ESCMID (European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases) in He also worked in Prof. Nordmann’s laboratory in Fribourg/ah is still leading several projects with Prof. Murat Akova’s group in Turkey.

One roving chef has been a busy man this summer. Tarik Abdullah — who runs his own charitable initiative (Feed the People) and pop-up — has been deeply involved in the Seattle Community Kitchen Collective, which Filipino restaurant Musang launched in the spring to help those in need during the COVID pandemic. Now, just down the road, Abdullah is collaborating with local artists on an outdoor gathering space for the neighborhood, filled with music, art, and food.
The new project is called Feed the People Plaza, and it started as mainly a grassroots painting effort back in late July. Abdullah tells Eater Seattle he simply wanted to create a mural on the old Kusina Filipina building in Beacon Hill with his friend, artist Malcom Proctor. For eight years, the immigrant-owned Kusina served as a popular spot for Filipino food, before it closed in (the family that ran the place later started a food truck called Chebogz). So the mural seemed like an apt tribute to the space.

On August 30, , five individuals exemplifying the richness and diversity of the Seattle arts community receive the 16th annual Mayor's Arts Awards. The awardees are chef and educator Tarik Abdullah, musician and philanthropist Paula Boggs, artist Fulgencio Lazo, poet and film-industry professional Jorge Enrique González Pacheco, and Karen P. Thomas, artistic director of Seattle Pro Musica.
